One dog parent's senior dog was fighting cancer — frail, and extremely sensitive to changes in temperature. Even so, the owner kept up their daily walk together, holding on to a normal routine and a sense of everyday life.
That winter in Taipei was especially damp and cold, and a heavy traditional winter coat would only have added more strain to an already weakened body. Switching to a lightweight, warm vest meant the dog could still get through every walk, even on the coldest, dampest days. That year marked the dog's sixth year fighting cancer — every walk was the owner's gentlest form of companionship, and the dog's most resilient form of persistence.
