How thick is the vest? What temperature range is it designed for?
10–15°C: wear alone for daily walks. 5–10°C: layer under a PETT2GO Raincoat or Windbreaker. Below 5°C: use mid-layer plus a thicker outer shell. Note: We don't recommend long outdoor exposure for dogs in very low temperatures.
Can it be worn on its own, or does it need a shell?
Both are appropriate — adjust based on conditions. Cool and dry: wear alone. Damp, rainy, or windy: layer under a PETT2GO Raincoat or Windbreaker for best warmth and protection.
Is the Motion Fleece Vest waterproof?
No. The fleece vest is designed for warmth and breathability, not waterproofing. In rain or wet conditions, layer the PETT2GO Breathable Raincoat as the outer shell.
Do long-haired dogs need it?
It depends on climate and activity level. Long-haired dogs have natural insulation, but cold wind and wet conditions still cause rapid heat loss at the spine and chest — especially in senior or low-activity dogs. The vest protects exactly these core areas.
Is it machine-washable? Will it pill?
Yes, machine-wash safe. Gentle cold cycle in a laundry bag; low-heat tumble dry or air dry flat; avoid bleach, ironing, or dry cleaning. The brushed fleece has passed durability testing and resists pilling under normal use. Mild pilling from harness friction is considered natural wear.
How do I find the right size?
Sizing is based on weight and chest girth — not breed label. The high-neck, short-body cut is sized by weight and chest, not back length. Use the size guide on the product page to measure neck and chest for the most accurate fit.
